Dogs experience the world through their noses, and research shows that sniffing boosts confidence, problem-solving skills, and overall well-being.

K9 Nose Work® offers scent-based enrichment for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments—because every dog can sniff! Nose Work training makes searching fun, builds confidence, and provides mental stimulation without physical strain.

Whether for fun or competition, K9 Nose Work® helps your dog embrace their sniffing instincts while strengthening your bond. You'll be amazed at what their nose can do!

About Me & My Methods

Jessica Daggit, ABCDT, ANWI

Logo with text "ANWI NACSW Associate Nose Work Instructor."

My passion for dogs has been a lifelong journey. In 2013, I became a Certified Dog Trainer to deepen that love and help pet owners build stronger, more fulfilling partnerships with their dogs.

I discovered the sport of K9 Nose Work® during a class with Cindy Knowlton, CNWI, and was immediately captivated. As my admiration for the sport grew, I knew my next step was to become a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) myself.

Unlike other dog sports where we direct the dog, what I love most about K9 Nose Work is that it shifts the dynamic—handlers step back, trust their dogs, and learn to follow their lead.

By teaching this dog-driven approach, handlers develop a deeper understanding of their dogs’ unique search styles, communication through behavior, and ultimately create a more enjoyable and fulfilling experience for the dog.

In my training, I strive to make learning positive, fun and enriching for both dogs and their handlers.

Classes

Intro to K9 Nose Work

Start here! This foundational class introduces dogs to the game of K9 Nose Work®, encouraging their desire to hunt for food and building independence.

Intro to Odor

Pre-requisite: Intro to K9 Nose Work. Dogs are introduced to the scents of birch, anise, and clove by pairing each odor with food, imprinting the odor.

About Goomba

I am delighted to share my Nose Work journey with my Clumber Spaniel, Goomba. His enthusiasm and love for the sport keeps me eager to continue learning and enjoy every moment.

Goomba, registered name, Clussexx Red Baron, is the 12th Clumber Spaniel to earn a NACSW NW1 title.

He enjoys hiking, sniffing, sleeping but most of all loves having fun with his mom and dad whatever they choose to do.
